Crochet Slouchy Twist Beanie Hat

Updated: Mar 10, 2021

Right and Left Handed Video Tutorial, plus Free PDF download Pattern

In this video I show you step-by-step how to make my Crochet Slouchy Twist Beanie Hat, where the rib type ridges travel diagonally around the crown. The pattern is designed for an average size ladies head (measuring approximately 54cm-57cm), but can easily be adjusted for a narrower or wider head, as the hat is crocheted sideways. The free printable PDF written pattern can be downloaded from my website HERE, or alternatively CLICK HERE to find it as a free Ravelry Download.

I haven't specified a particular brand, as its such a versatile pattern and looks made up in either self striping yarns, or solid colours. However I've listed the yarns below for the ones I made here.

Yarns I Used

Green/Blue Hat - Hayfield - Bonus Breeze Double Knitting, shade 0482, Atlantis.

Red/Pink Hat - James C. Brett - Marble Double Knitting Yarn, shade MT33.

Pink/Blue Hat - King Cole Splash, shade 883, Candyfloss.

Materials

You will need 100 grams of standard UK weight Double knitting Yarn, with a total yardage of 280 metres. 1 x 4mm crochet hook and 2 stitch markers, although if you haven't got stitch markers you can use a paperclip or small amount of contrasting yarn instead.
