This is my absolute Beginners version of making a Granny Square and I feel that a 2 colour version is easier than a plain Granny Square for beginners.

In this tutorial for the "Granny Rectangle" I take you step-by-step thought the set-up and first 4 rounds and give you suggested size options and yarn quantities for 3 sizes of blanket, suitable as a baby blanket, lap blanket, or pet blanket. You can of course make this blanket as large as you wish.

This is my step-by-step video tutorial for making a plain coloured Granny Square perfect for learning to crochet.  At the end of the video I also show you how to join in a different colour at the beginning of a new round, plus show you how a connect a new ball of yarn when my current colour runs out.

A Block Stitch Granny Square is a lovely adaptation of a traditional granny square. It can be made as individual motifs, or worked in ongoing continual rounds to create a larger project.
