Morning Workshop

In this workshop you’ll start to make your own pair of Toe-Up Socks, which is a really popular option for sock knitting, as you can try your socks on as you go - to ensure a perfect fit. You can also easily calculate yarn usage and never run out of yarn on the second foot, plus this method avoids the need to use “Kitchener Stitch” at the Toe!

You’ll learn to use the “Magic Loop” method of knitting and an 80cm circular needle is included with the workshop, to ensure you have the correct size and length of needle to knit your socks.

During the workshop you will start by making a mini sock and learn how to cast-on from the toe and increase your stitches.

You will then learn and be guided through how to make a “German Short Row Heel’ and shown a stretchy “Cast-Off” method for the end of the cuff.

By the end of the work shop you will have cast on and started your full-size sock and will also have the benefit of being able to refer back to Wendy’s YouTube videos at home, if you need to check back or refresh yourself with any of the techniques learned on the day.

The pattern included with the workshop covers adult shoe sizes ranging from a UK adult size 3, up to a UK adult size 13.
